Are you wondering what to expect during your first visit to Cimarron Chiropractic? Below is a breakdown of what happens during your first visit.

Patient Registration

When you walk into our office premises, our friendly front office staff will greet you warmly and show you where to sit. You will then be requested to fill a patient form, unless pre-printed and filled out prior to your appointment. Patient forms are crucial in gathering relevant information regarding our patients’ medical history and ongoing health conditions. Should you have any pressing questions when completing your patient forms, please let our staff know.

Comprehensive Consultation

Next, you will sit with Dr. Hershberger to discuss your health concerns and treatment expectations in detail. This initial consultation allows us to know more about you and your condition and determine if and how chiropractic care can positively impact and change your life.

Complete Chiropractic Evaluation

After the consultation, it’s time for a complete chiropractic examination. A chiropractic examination includes standard checks such as blood pressure, respiration, and reflexes, as well as neurological and orthopedic tests. The objective of a chiropractic exam is to assess the range of motion or flexibility, muscle tone, and muscle strength. The information obtained during a chiropractic exam informs the creation of a personalized treatment plan.

We only perform the tests that the patient consents to.

Imaging Tests (X-Rays)

If it’s necessary for your condition, per Dr. Hershberger’s discretion, we may need to take x-rays to gather in-depth insights. X-rays are crucial in enabling our chiropractor to arrive at an accurate diagnosis and provide appropriate treatment.

Chiropractic Report of Findings

Our chiropractor compiles a report of findings after collecting all information during the consultation and performing necessary exams. A chiropractic report of findings consists of insights gathered during the visit and answers to patients’ most common questions, including:

  • How can our chiropractor help?
  • How many times do you need to come in for treatment?
  • What will be the cost of treatment?

Depending on your specific condition, Dr. Hershberger may collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure the best treatment outcomes. Our chiropractor is committed to providing outstanding and personalized care that meets all your needs.

Treatment

At the end of your consultation and exam, patients often experience their first chiropractic treatment. This may include electrical stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, or spinal adjustments, depending on your unique needs. Our patients also have the option of scheduling their first treatment for later, if that’s more convenient for them.

Wellness Program

Our doctor may recommend a wellness program to adhere to outside of in-office treatment. For example, the doctor may suggest ice or heat applications to manage pain or swelling and posture changes to relieve back pain. Dr. Hershberger may also recommend specific home exercises as well as advise you on which physical activities to avoid for better well-being.
